Wear layered clothing that isn’t too baggy. Bring your yoga mat and water bottle, and leave your cell phones behind!
If you are new to yoga we recommend trying our Basics (beginner) class which introduces the foundations of the practice. If you suffer joint pain or are recovering from injuries try our Gentle classes. If you exercise regularly and have done a few yoga classes then you might like the Slow Flow or Vinyasa classes. Some people prefer to try different styles of classes and instructors to get an idea of what suits them. You will see class style descriptions on our website.
No. You just show up for our classes. Arrive 5-10 minutes before class and pay either by cash or check. We do not accept credit cards at the studio.
We post class cancellations at least one hour before the start of class on the front page of our website and the online class schedule. It’s always a good idea to check the website before coming to class especially if the weather is bad.
Yes. We have a limited number of mats for you to use. You can borrow one for free.
After you have used your mat a few times, it should feel less slippery. Try keeping it unrolled at home and walk on it with your bare feet. You can also handwash it with no soap and let it drip dry. Also, make sure you do not practice with lotion on your hands!
We keep the rooms at around 72 degrees: warm enough that you won’t feel a chill but not so hot that you’re sweating before class starts. There is no air conditioning but we do have ceiling fans.
There’s free street parking in front of the studio on Liberty Street and throughout the Tannery Marketplace.
No. Your class package is restricted to your account with us and can’t be shared.
The environment at Repose is non-competitive and very supportive. Getting more flexible is a good reason to start practicing yoga! You will be surprised by how quickly you gain flexibility when you practice regularly.
Your body will receive the benefits of yoga if you come once a week, but two times a week or more is ideal. The more often you practice, the quicker you will notice progress in your practice.
